One day, while tending to his oxen, he met a beautiful fairy named Zhinv, who had descended from the sky to bathe in a nearby river. They fell deeply in love at first sight and got married secretly. Together, they lived happily and even had two lovely children.

However, their happiness was short-lived. The Queen Mother of Heaven soon discovered Zhinv's secret marriage and was furious. With a wave of her hairpin, she created a mighty river (the Milky Way) to separate the lovers. Heartbroken, Niulang could only gaze across the stars, longing for his beloved wife.

Moved by their love, the Jade Emperor allowed them to meet once a year on the 7th day of the 7th lunar month. On this magical night, magpies form a bridge across the Milky Way, enabling the couple to reunite. Their touching story has been passed down through generations, symbolizing true love that transcends all obstacles. ❤️‍🔥
